Detective Comics 22 Inks and Colors

Detective Comics 22 turned out to be my favorite comic I've ever drawn.  John Layman wrote a fun, dark, mysterious story that really took me right where I wanted to go with Batman.
I also had Emilio Lopez on colors for this issue, and I feel that the colors really turned out great!  Emilio puts in so much detail and understands tone, shadow and lighting so well, I'm able to cut back on things here and there and allow him to take over.
We also discussed having a color theory for this issue.  If you watch a movie or play a video game, you will see the developers choose specific colors and stick to those colors through the entire film, or set piece in order to create a consistent look.  I want Gotham to look dark, shady, mysterious and much more muted like the Batman movies.  We decided to run with Blue and Orange and the two colors that would be throughout the entire book (with little changes here and there to separate scenes out).
Below are a selection of line art as well as the amazing colors.  Enjoy!

New Cover Roundups (Detective Comics and Arkham War!)

The DC Solicits for the month of October were released yesterday with a few books featuring cover's by myself.
Take a look!

Detective Comics 24 (Out in October)

Colors by Blonde

I will also be doing covers for the Arkham War event.  Here is the first cover.  This took me 3 days to draw and lots of headaches, but the final colors really won me over.  Blonde did a great job here!

Detective Comics 23 (out in August)

Colors by Emilio Lopez

And here is the cover for Detective Comics 22.  Originally, this was the cover for the combo pack, but DC switched it to the main cover.  At first I was sort of put down by this, seeing that we wanted to have a color theme running constant through the book, which was blue and orange, but this version has really grown on me.  Another great job by Mr. Lopez.

Next post Ill have some art from 'Tec 22 as well as some commentary on my thoughts.
Look for that once my schedule dies down a bit!

High End Commissions!

I am starting a very limited commissions list for 2013.  I do not do commissions normally but have decided to do this because there has been some interest.

Here's how this will work:

If interested, please email me at jason_fabok@yahoo.com .  I will give you my prices there.

Info about the Commissions pieces:
-Full page 11x17 PENCIL ONLY image
-tight art, not a sketch so this will reflect in the price.  These are high end commissions.
-Only taking a list of a few, so if interested, get on my list now.

I will ask that you pay half up front in order to let me know you are serious, and the last half once the art is finished.  Shipping not included in my price.
I will be doing head-sketches only at comicon's this year on comic book backing boards or on sketch variant covers but those will only be on a first come, first serve basis.  This commission list is for full page images more akin to a cover drawing.

Again, contact me now at jason_fabok@yahoo.com to get my prices.

Thanks!
